Architecture lighting

The biggest challenge was to make a lighting design that would overlay the installed working light without changing the ceiling. The lighting experience that I added represented the flow of water, like a waterfall coming to the next room, and the technical challenges were plenty.

The challenge on this project was to have a homogeneous lighting to serve the architecture and at the same time time serving the family on their intimacy, that liked low lighting and wanted some dramatic lighting scenes.

The project concept was to allow for the wooden roof and ceiling to not be interrupted by lighting fixtures. The roof was to be treated as unit, a plane with no interferences. The luminaries in this case would work as art works in the different spaces.

It allowed adding value in creative expression and sound immersion, exploring the interplay of light and music to enrich this response to the long nightlife culture tradition of Brasilia, while tackling the technical and creative aspects of high end lighting technology.

A strong intervention was designed in the façade and the architecture itself was conceived as a frame for the art works. In the lighting project, two layers were developed: general lighting with indirect pendants and accent light with track lights.
